ANOTHER YEAR IS COMING to a close, and that means another year of insurance benefits is about to expire. If you haven’t taken advantage of your dental insurance yet, that’s okay, but the year is almost over, so the time to use them is now at Dental Care of Mid Florida. To help you prepare, we’ve put together some information about how dental insurance works at our practice.
What Dental Plans Typically Cover
Generally, dental policies cover some portion of the cost of preventive care, fillings, crowns, root canals, and oral surgery, such as tooth extractions. They might also cover orthodontics, periodontics (the structures that support and surround the tooth) and prosthodontics, such as dentures and bridges.

Getting Everything Done On Time
Many insurance companies have a benefit deadline of December 31, and this means that any of your unused benefits don't roll over into the New Year for most dental plans. Still, some plans may end at different times of the year, so check your plan document or ask your employer to be sure.
